Greenway board deals with bond sale

At the regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, March 25, it was mostly business as usual for Greenway school board, with a couple exceptions. The board heard from Mike Hoheisel from Baird Public Finance, who was present regarding the possible sale of General Obligation Refunding Bonds. Superintendent Mark Adams said that there is a current window of opportunity where the district is able to refinance with the bonds which also coincides with a desirable interest rate that led the administration to recommend the sale.

Guilty plea entered in theft of motorcycles

HIBBING — The man charged with motor vehicle theft after alledgedly test driving, then stealing motorcycles in the area, including two in Hibbing in September, has pleaded guilty to and been sentenced for the crime.

Lansboro, Minn., theater group coming to Grand Rapids

For the past 10 years, the Commonweal Theatre in Lansboro, Minn., has made the pilgrimage north to Grand Rapids every two years to present a fresh interpretation of a classic Henrik Ibsen play at the Reif Center. Commonweal has made a name for itself for the company’s take on the famous Norwegian playwright, and the people of Minnesota have been the beneficiaries of these productions, whether they’re performed at the Commonweal’s own theater in southern Minnesota, or at their touring productions every two years.
