Constance “Connee” Louise Claviter, 83, of Virginia, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at St. Raphael’s Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Connee was born April 6, 1929, to Nicholas and Carmella (Dote) Poce in Virginia. She attended Virginia Roosevelt High School. She married Robert Claviter on July 27, 1947.

Connee enjoyed knitting: doll clothes, Barbie clothes, and croqueting many multi-colored doilies and afghans. She knit hundreds of bears for the Mother Bear Project. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and other word puzzles from the newspapers, jigsaw puzzles, TV, and watching sports.

Connee loved doing the twin dance, making homemade lasagna, cheerleading, and making Gramma Connee Delight dessert for her grandkids. She was very well-liked and had a lot of fun. Connee was a joy to be around.

She was a member of the Northern Club, Elder Services, Sacred Heart Guild, Mother Bear Project, and many volunteer projects at nursing homes.

Connee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Claviter; and brother-in-law, Mel Claviter.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas (BobbiAnne) Claviter of Virginia, Richard (Peggy) Claviter of Virginia; twin sister, Nancy Claviter of Virginia; brother, Guy (Ann) Poce of Lake Vermilion; four grandchildren, Cindy (Todd) Rourke of Duluth, Amber Malys of Moorhead, Tom (Sheree) Claviter of Iron, Megan (Sid) Rivera of Apple Valley; five great-grandchildren, Haley, Riley, Derek, Maddie and Jayden; very special nieces and nephews, Lynda (Mark) Weir of Virginia, Cathy (Craig) Babich of Virginia, Mel Claviter of Virginia, Holly Marie Weir of Britt, Ben Weir of Britt, Robby Babich of Virginia, Christa (Tyler) Stanley of Lino Lakes, Carrie Babich of Virginia.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Virginia, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. The Rev.
