Cynthia Sandstedt, 64, longtime resident of Virginia, died March 10, 2011, at home from natural causes.
Cindy was born May 21, 1946, in Duluth, to Frank and Bernice Sandstedt. She graduated from the Virginia Roosevelt High School in 1964. She earned her bachelor’s of science degree from the Bemidji State College in education. She was also selected by the faculty of Bemidji State to attend literary classes at Oxford University in Oxford, England. She was most proud of her accomplishment as Miss Virginia, Minnesota Posture, and as a Miss World Fitness finalist.
She is survived by her father, Frank; sisters, Candy (Boris) Babich of Hibbing, Sherry Fiskwold of Oak Grove, Minn., Becky and Beth Sandstedt, both of Ramsey, Minn.; and a brother, Steve Sandstedt of Thousand Oaks, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice.
A private memorial service is planned for a later date. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
