Terry A. Marchal, 52, of Isleton, Calif., died Monday, June 21, 1999, in the Lodi Memorial Hospital in Lodi, Calif.
He was born Dec. 23, 1946, in Berkeley, Calif., to Maurice and Agnes (Cherro) Marchal. He was a 1963 Antioch High School graduate in Antioch, Calif. He attended Diablo Valley Community College and later served in Vietnam with the Navy SeaBees as a heavy equipment operator. He returned from the service and attended St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud and studied abroad in Denmark. He earned a bachelor of science in biology at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
He worked for U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh, Calif., and later as a plant operator for Imperial West Chemical in Antioch, Calif. He also worked as a seaman on the ore boats based in Cleveland and for the Crowley Maritime seagoing tugboats that were based in Seattle, Wash. At one time, the travel took him through the Panama Canal. In Bellingham, Wash., he operated a television inspection camera for the city government. He currently was a self-employed wood worker.
He is survived by his parents, Maurice and Agnes Marchal of Aurora; a brother, Chris Marchal, of Brentwood, Calif.; and two nephews, Leon and Nick Marchal of California.
