SERVICES: Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday in Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora. The Rev. Joseph Sirba will officiate. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Aurora. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora.
Joseph Grebenc, 62, of Aurora, died on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, in his home.
He was born on June 1, 1939, to Joseph and Frances (Nemanic) Grebenc in Aurora. He graduated from Aurora High School in 1960, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving from 1960 to 1964. He married Arlene Edwards on May 4, 1977, in Virginia. He was employed by LTV Steel for 28 years, working as a drill operator, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Steel Workers Union Local 4108, and was an avid gardener. He won top honors from the Biwabik Home and Garden Club in 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Arlene; two sisters, Diane Engelstad of Pinion Hill, Calif. and Laurie (Robert) Robinson of Aurora; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who were very close to their uncle Joe; and by his 1991 foreign exchange student Ester Klubben of Norway.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Pogorelce, and his parents.
