SERVICES: Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Church of Holy Name of Jesus, County Road 24, Medina, Minn. Visitation Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Chapel of Plymouth, 37th Ave. North and Vicksburg Lane. Private interment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to American Diabetes Associaton or donor’s choice.
Margaret Jean (Viger) Gregg, age 81, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, passed away peacefully at home Sept. 20, 2007, surrounded by her family.
Margaret Jean graduated from Eveleth High School and earned her degree in dietetics from the University of Minnesota. She continued to pursue her passion at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She returned to the Twin Cities, holding various dietetic positions culminating at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, serving as director of dietetics. She was also actively enjoyed leadership roles in both national and Minnesota chapters of many professional dietetic organizations, including the American Dietetic Association (50-year member), American Diabetes Association (20-year board member). She was a founding member and past president of the TC Consulting Dietitians. In addition she enjoyed time with her family at the cabin in Wisconsin.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 57 years, William (Bill); sister, Mary Lou Viger of Los Angeles, Calif.; children, Michael (Shelly), Kevin (Norma), Mary (Steve) Howe, Paul (Cecilia), Mark (Kate), Joan (Paul) Nordick and Daniel (Suzanne) and grandchildren, Stacy, Anna, Sebastian, Maggie, Ilia, Billy, Mary, Dominic, Peter, Katie, John, Betsy and Patrick, all of whom she lovingly taught to “aim high” in all their endeavors.
She will be fondly remembered for her strong faith and commitment to her family and friends.
