Northwoods Friends of the Arts is proud to present the large installation exhibit, “Surface Work” by Sarah Maki, during the month of February in the gallery classroom in Cook, MN.  The large paintings are composed of mixed media on acrylic paint.

The daughter of now retired Cook (MN) High School art teacher, Ron Maki, she went on to pursue a “bachelors degree in studio art and history” and a “masters in fine art degree” in painting.  The paintings featured in the current exhibit explore  Sarah Maki’s continued interest in translucency and surfaces as found in the natural world, including ice and snow of northern Minnesota. The exhibit begins Feb. 6th, with a public reception from 5 to 7 P.M. on Fri. Feb. 7th. and concludes on Fri., Feb. 28th, 2020.
