Daniel Kampf, 75, of Virginia, passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 at his residence.
Daniel was born on October 28, 1943 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Eva Kampf. The family moved to Keewatin when Dan was 12. He graduated from Keewatin High School in 1961. He attended Hibbing Community College and excelled in theatrical productions while attending. He served in the Air Force. Daniel married the former Sue Steinkemper in 1966 and they had 3 sons. He was a heavy equipment operator for Hanna Mining. Dan moved to Duluth and earned an A.A. degree for productivity technicians from Duluth Technical Institute. He met and married his wife Nina in Duluth in 1994. They moved to the Iron Range, Hibbing, and finally Virginia in 2017.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 25 years, Nina of Virginia; 3 sons, Robert of Keewatin, Paul (Heather) of Los Angeles, CA, William (Jamie) of Eau Claire, WI; grandchildren, Abigail, Sabrina, Aurelia, and Alexander; brothers, Joseph (Ginny) of Lakewood, WI, and Allen (JoAnne) of Crosby, MN; sister, Mona of Hibbing; sister-in-law, Ellie of Nashwauk; former wife, Sue Kampf of Keewatin; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Eva, in 2004; father, Joseph, in 2006; and brother, Ron, in 2017.
