Linda Fae Sausman, 64, of Gilbert, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth surrounded by loving family.
She was born on Aug. 26, 1952, to Verline and Viva (Stanhope) Roderick in Willamina, Ore. Linda grew up in a military family having moved all over the continental U.S. Immediately following her schooling, Linda was united marriage to LeRoy Sausman on Oct. 18, 1969, in Superior, Wis. The couple moved to Oregon and returned to Minnesota where the couple started their family. Linda was a proud mother and homemaker. She had volunteered as a Girl Scout leader for 10 years and was the first female Little League baseball coach in Gilbert. Linda held many jobs over the years including Montgomery Ward, Pamida, Gilbert School District, and the ICO. She also ran several of her own businesses including Lynn’s Upholstery, Lynn’s Ceramics and most recently Time to Wine in Gilbert.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, LeRoy; two children, Robert (Renee) Sausman of Navarre, Fla. and Tammy (Brian) Klomps of Eveleth; seven grandchildren, Brooke Sausman, Stephanie Canterbury, BreAnna “Baby Doll” Sausman, Joshua Sausman, Robyn Steele, Emma Sausman and Tristin “Baby Girl” Klomps; her father, Verline Roderick; two sisters, Deonna Briggs of Twin Cities and Patty (Henry) Affolter of Otis, Ore; three step-siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Viva and an infant brother.
Memorial service for Linda will be 4 p.m. Friday, Feb 17, 2017, at the Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Rev. Jerry Kosanovich officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
